le 23.   OTHER CUP COMPETITIONS
 

     23.1 ‘Twenty-20’ Cup Competitions
 

     23.1.1

‘Twenty-20’ Hawkey ,Vinter and Clive Rosevear K-O Cup Competitions to be run under the auspices of CCL with special set of rules (see 23.2 – 23-4) to apply.
 

     23.1.2

‘Forty-40’ Sunday Competitions to be similarly run with special set of rules to apply.
Entry  is ‘open’ to respective teams that play in CCL.    (Not applicable in  2008)
 

     23.1.3

The LMC shall have the powers to deal with all matters not covered by existing Rules,
and their decision shall be final.
 

     23.1.4

All trophies to be returned to the Competition Secretary before the semi-finals.
 

     23.1.5

Every player shall be qualified and registered as per League Rules 14 and 15.  Any
player having played in the competition shall be cup tied’ and not eligible to play for any other club in the competition in that season.  Players are  only permitted to play in either Hawkey Cup or Vinter Knock-Out Competitions, NOT BOTH.  Clubs contravening  this rule will be disqualified.

 

 
 

     23.2      

Twenty-20’ Vinter Cup Competition - Rules and Conditions
 

     23.2.1

Entry to the Vinter Cup shall be confined to members of Western Section of the League. Teams playing in the Premier League shall enter the Vinter Cup in the 2nd Round.
 

     23.2.2

Each game will consist of 20  six ball overs to each side (no bowler shall bowl more than five) overs and will normally  be played on the ground of the first named club, except in cases of mutual agreement.
 

     23.2.3

For Quarter-finals onwards, fielding restrictions to apply as per rules - section 18.8 or 19.2.
 

     23.2.4

In the event of a tie, the Winner shall be the side losing the least number of wickets. 
In the event of a further tie the winner shall be decided by the team scoring most runs off the bat.
 

     23.2.5

The times of commencement of each game will not be later than 6.30pm and for the Quarter-Finals, Semi-Finals and  Final not later than 6.00pm.   Reasonably sound balls will be provided by the Home club for each game, and the Competition will provide a
new ball for each Semi-Final and the Final.
 

     23.2.6

The admission fees for the Semi-Finals £1.00 and Final £2.00 (OAP’s & under 14’s 50 pence).
 

     23.2.7

Neutral umpires will not be provided, except for Semi-Finals and Final, unless clubs
make special application to the Secretary. 
 

     23.2.8

A club having two sides in the Competition is placed on its honour not to include regular first team players in its  second side, especially should their first side be knocked out before their second side.
 

     23.2.9

If all members of one side are not present and ready to take the field at 6.30pm and
the other side is so able, then the  side lacking players shall forfeit the right to toss,
unless it is prepared to take the field immediately without substitutes.
 

     23.2.10

Any club not completing their fixture within the specified within the specified dates, and having no legitimate excuse  will be eliminated from the competition.  All rounds from the Preliminary to the Final to be played on dates arranged by the organisers.

 

 
 

     23.3

Twenty-20’ Hawkey Cup Competition - Rules and Conditions
 

     23.3.1

The Hawkey Cup shall be open to all teams from the Eastern Section in the Premier League, County Division 1 and Division 2.
 

     23.3.2

Entry to be mandatory for each club (one team per club) unless by LMC agreement. Entries to be split into 4 groups, playing each other once i.e. a minimum of 3 matches
in the groups with group winners going forward to semi-finals and a final under the
same rules.

 

     23.3.3

Entry fee to be £5-00 per. team.
 

     23.3.4

Group matches to be played in the evenings at locations and dates in May and June agreed by the HC Committee.
 

     23.3.5

The start time for the group matches shall be no later than 6-30pm.
 

     23.3.6

Reasonably sound cricket balls shall be provided by the home club.
 

     23.3.7

Semi-finals and final to be played on a Sunday– all 4 teams on the day (winners and
losers) to receive medals and Hawkey Cup and cash awards (value to be decided.)

 

     23.3.8

Semi-finals and final to be played on a ground in the east of the County as decided by
the HC committee.
 

     23.3.9

Man of the match award to be made in the Hawkey Cup final.
 

     23.3.10

Admission for the Semi-finals and final to be £3-00 and £1-50 for children and OAP’s.
 

     23.3.11

Hawkey Cup winner to play the Vinter Cup winner in the Edwards Cup.
 

     23.3.12

Each game shall consist of 20 six ball overs to each side (no bowler shall bowl more
than 5 overs)
 

     23.3.13

A line 3ft. either side of the middle stump to be used to determine off-side wide balls. Leg-side wides as per Rule 38.
 

     23.3.14

In the event of a tie (each side has scored the same number of runs) the result shall be
determined by a bowl out, whereby 5 bowlers from either team are allowed to bowl two
balls at the wicket with no batsman at the crease. The team with the most hits wins the
match.
 

     23.3.15

Fielding restrictions to apply as per rules - section 18.8 or 19.2 as related to Higher Tier.
 

     23.3.16

Free hits – following a no ball as a result of a bowler foot fault the next ball shall be a
'free-hit'.
 The batsman is not to be given out except under MCC Law 24.15.
 

     23.3.17

Only registered club players will be allowed to play. (Guest players only permitted with
agreement of the HC Committee and must play in the same division or below.)
 

     23.3.18

A white or orange cricket ball to be used in the semi-finals and final, League to provide.
 

     23.3.19

Panel umpires at every game including group matches.
 

     23.3.20

Panel umpires to receive £12 match expenses in group games. (Each Club to pay for
one umpire.)
 

     23.3.21

Panel umpires to receive medals on semi / final day (4 umpires).
 

     23.3.22

Any byes must be advised prior to 7 days of the match day to the HC committee, a fine
of £20 per team for each and every bye at the HC committee discretion.
 

     23.3.23

Group matches cancelled due to the weather to be rearranged.
 

     23.3.24

Points Scoring in Group Matches.  Win: 2 points; Abandoned (No Result): 1 point;
Lose: 0 points.   In the event of a tie, refer to 23.3.14
 

     23.3.25

In the event of two or more sides in any zonal group having the same number of points
after all matches have been concluded, positions in the table shall be decided on their
respective net run rates.  Only matches where results are achieved will count for the
purposes of net run rate calculations.  A team’s net run rate is calculated by deducting
from the average runs per over scored by that team, the average runs per over scored
against that team.  In the event of a team being all out in less than its full allocation of
overs, the calculation of its run rate shall be based on the full quota of overs to which
it would have been entitled, and NOT on the number of overs in which the team was
dismissed.

 

 

     23.4

‘Twenty-20’ Clive Rosevear Cup Competition - Rules and Conditions

 


 Playing conditions as per Hawkey Cup (Rule 23.3)
 

     23.4.1

Entry shall be voluntary and open to clubs in Division 3 and below in the Eastern Section.
 

     23.4.2

Entry fee £5-00 per. team.
 

     23.4.3

Clubs can only enter one team.
 

     23.4.4

Format will depend on numbers but  zones preferred for early rounds with the aim to
produce 4 zone winners and then a semi / final day as per Hawkey Cup.
 

     23.4.5

Apply handicapping. (10 runs per division in favour of lower team)
 

     23.4.6

Medals for zone winners and those participating in Finals Day.
 

     23.4.7

Matches to be played in May / June.
 

     23.4.8

NO  regular Cornwall Cricket League Premier Division, Division 1 or 2 players are eligible to play.  A regular  player  is defined as one who plays in 3 CONSECUTIVE  Premier , Division 1  or 2 games
